Fitness tracking and rewards

Data is often useless to people unless it’s easy to understand and has real life context. At EveryMove we took fitness data from disparate tracking sources and amalgamated the data into a useful picture of health and wellness for individuals. Partnering with health care companies like Premera Blue Cross allowed us to provide incentives to customers making an effort.

Role: Senior Designer and Design Director, 2011-2014

The EveryMove app was socially driven and full of friendly motivation. Teams and individuals interacted on the device neutral platform. If your friend tracked their workouts with a Fitbit and you tracked yours with an iWatch, the results could be enjoyed in the same context on EveryMove. We developed a website, iOS and Android applications.

Movement turned into points which could turn into real rewards. Users were continually delighted by adding up their workouts and redeeming free apparel or gear relevant to their interests.

EveryMove, Inc. was more than a consumer facing app. It was a multi-sided business that served advertisers, health care companies and employers.

Once we had a growing fitness tracking ecosystem of consumers we took on a straight-forward health care approach. We released Tandem by EveryMove which connected health care companies directly with their customers. Tandem tailored and prioritized health care actions for individuals. By creating this ecosystem of guidance and motivation EveryMove and Tandem were able able to reduce health costs and improve outcomes. EveryMove and Tandem were acquired by Higi in 2017.
